WNB Productions is casting for "The Hour", a dynamic gospel stage play written by Pastor Wayne Bullock of WNB Productions and directed by Kareem Jones and Tony Williams of Get Write Ent. This play will be held in the New Jersey/New York area, May 20, 2016. We are looking for Lead, Understudy and Supporting roles for the following characters.
SYNOPSIS
Mankind has had to endure and rebuild from several catastrophic events throughout history.... Famines, disease, a vast array of natural disasters, and many wars have plagued mankind with all kinds of anguish and trouble... Each time however, mankind had somehow found a way to bounce back, recover and go on with life....
However after each event, some were left with a certain enduring fear of what the future holds next... We constantly hear of all kinds of meetings and world summits filled with the world’s top leaders discussing ideas on how to prepare and or avert the next disaster that awaits.... While others are either way to busy living their lives, or could simply care less what the future holds...
This is a story of the journey of a young woman named Cherise... A strong-willed realist who outside of family and her own ambitions, never really cared or gave thought to the future or what it may bring... Although surrounded by several people who strongly believe something MAJOR is about to take place that is going to change everything in the world as they know it, Cherise dismisses every attempt of anyone trying to convince her to "prepare".... She stubbornly resists any fear mongering, any newscast, End-Time Prophesy, or people who go around warning of any unsubstantiated proof of impending danger...
Until the (HOUR) arrives that affects everyone on earth, including her and her closest relative. Now on a quest for answers and normalization, she must contend several “outside” influences of this new age, while at the same time fight her own inner struggles of identity and beliefs... With the help of a good friend of the relative she has lost who happens to also be suffering loss as well, together they fight to stay alive during this period of Great Trouble....
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Cherise
Young female, between the ages of 18-25. A little boyish, punk grunge kind of look to her, slightly boyish in her demeanor. .. She is stubborn and has a major emotional wall up. She is soft-spoken but is easily angered. Petite to Medium build and is agile.

Rockwell
Rockwell is an male between the ages of 25-30. He is mature and very responsible; almost like a father-figure. He is very mild-mannered.

Girlfriend (Mia)
Young female between the ages of 18-25. She is soft spoken with a warm personality.

Pastor Mike
Male between the ages of 35-45. He is very soft-spoken and kind to everyone. He is Medium built man who has some agility.

Alley
Female between the ages of 35-45. She is the voice of reason for Pastor Mike. Kind hearted, affectionate, thoughtful but says what it on her mind, especially when dealing with her husband.

Military Leader
Russian or German male between the ages of 45-55. Strong voice, very commanding presence. He is Medium-Large built man who is very uptight, sophisticated, arrogant, mean spirited, wicked and cruel. Strong Russian or German accent required! The man you love to hate!

All soldiers are mixed races… Stiff military-type man. Medium-large built man. He is very mean and has no patience; except with his boss.

Sister Rena is a female between the ages of 35 – 50. She is very anal and arrogant but very comical as well. Comedy and sarcasm are her ways of dealing with adverse situations.
